Successful implementation of the SEEAM Program in 2020


On December 8 2020 representatives of the Association for Water and Environmental Protection "Aquasan Network in BiH" (Aquasan AM Hub) successfully organized and conducted a final online workshop with directors and technical directors of PUCs within the Program "Asset Management advisory services for PUCs from South-eastern Europe” (SEEAM).

The workshop with directors and technical directors of PUC was implemented with active participation of the representatives of the GIZ, a representative of the International Association of Water Utilities from the Danube River Basin - IAWD, as well as Hydro-Comp Enterprise from Cyprus.

Throughout the continuous support to PUCs by the Aquasan AM Hub during 2020, activities within the Gold and Platinum A and B levels of the Program were successfully implemented by the following PUCs:

  1. Gold level:
  • JKP "ViK" d.o.o. Sanski Most,
  • KP "Budućnost" a.d. Laktaši,
  • KP „Bobas“ a.d. Kotor Varoš,
  1. Platinum A level:
  • KP „Vodovod“ a.d. Prnjavor,
  • JKP "Vodovod i kanalizacija" d.o.o. Velika Kladuša,
  1. Platinum B level:
  • JKP „ViK“ d.o.o. Gračanica,
  • KP „Vodovod“ a.d. Gradiška,
  • JKP „Vodovod i kanalizacija“ d.d. Srebrenik
  • KP „Vodovod“ a.d. Trebinje.

The final workshop was organized with the aim to consider all aspects of the implementation of the Program in 2020, and to agree on the next steps for continuing the asset management activities in 2021. During 2020, 6 online trainings were organized where 23 representatives of PUCs were trained for asset management activities on maintenance management (Gold level), distribution / NRW management (Platinum A level) and financial asset management (Platinum B level).

Due to the circumstances caused by the Covid 19 Pandemic, the GIZ has decided to extend the implementation of activities planned for 2020 until April 30 2021, and to start the next phase of the SEEAM Project on May 1 2021.

Throughout the evaluation forms, the participants expressed a high level of satisfaction with the realization of the workshop, the quality of the content and the interaction of the participants between the PUCs participating in the project.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic significantly affected the operational, technical and financial performance of PUCs, the PUCs expressed their further commitment to acquiring new knowledge and skills through the activities of the SEEAM Program in order to improve the overall business performance of their companies. PUCs expressed their readiness to continue active work in 2021 on network data management, maintenance management, balancing and management of non-revenue water, as well as financial asset management with the continuous support of representatives of the Aquasan Network in BiH.
