On March 3 and 14 2022, within the RCDN project Aquasan Network in BiH organized a two-day seminar / training on Integrated Asset Management. Participants were mayors and heads of services of local self-government units (LGUs) in charge of communal activities, general directors of public water supply / communal enterprises (PUC) and their executive directors for technical and economic-financial issues, and presidents of commissions for inventory and identification of unregistered fixed assets from local governments.
More than 80 participants on the first day of the seminar / training had the opportunity to get acquainted with the institutional, legal, technical and economic-financial aspects of integrated communal infrastructure management in order to better understand the basic principles and procedures of integrated asset management at the LGU level. The topics of the second day of the seminar / training were focused on the technical and economic - financial aspect of integrated asset management. Participants expanded existing and gained new knowledge on the asset register, asset maintenance procedures, asset criticality and rehabilitation planning, revaluation process, and integrated asset management financing strategy. In addition to the above, the training highlighted a common approach to integrated asset management at the level of local self-government through joint capacity development of representatives of LGUs and PUCs.
This is the fifth cycle of training, and the second that was held in an online format. With a combination of presentations, exercises, available online tools and quality contributions from participants, the seminar / training fully met expectations, which we could see through very positive feedback.
