Within the project "Policy Dialogue and Skills Development in the Wastewater Sector of the Republika Srpska" funded by the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and jointly implemented by the Association for Water and Environmental Protection "Aquasan Network in BiH" and the Swiss Water Association (VSA), in Bihać in the period from March 16 to March 18 2022 training of trainers on the topic "Storm Water Management" was held.
The objective of the Training of Trainers organized by the Association for Water and Environmental Protection "Aquasan Network in BiH" was to raise the level of knowledge and capacity of selected trainers for the delivery of the Capacity Development Product for Storm water Management.
Through a three-day training, selected trainers improved their knowledge on storm water management, which is necessary to foster an understanding of the importance and impact of storm water run-off on water quality, including the impact on operation of wastewater treatment plants. Also, the selected trainers are able to efficiently deliver the Capacity Development Product at the level of PUCs and are able to improve it with other existing capacity development programs in the water services sector.
The Product capacity development for storm water management is based on training materials developed by the VSA, which was adopted and improved by the Aquasan Network in BiH according to the context in BiH.
According to the results of the evaluation, all participants agreed that the topics and contents of the trainer's training are relevant to their work and that they know how to transfer the acquired knowledge to their colleagues. All participants are fully satisfied with the methodology and learning methods that confirm that the content and results of individual sessions were clear and were able to present their own experience and examples during the three-day training.
