Vision

To become a key platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among experts and practitioners with the aim of improving efficiency, sustainability and innovation in the operation of wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) as a very important segment of the provision of water services in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Why?

Due to the limited number of experts and practitioners in the field of wastewater in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the exchange of experiences and the establishment of the Community of Partice of WWTP operators represent a key solution that enables operators to learn from each other.

• Efficient and sustainable WWTP management;
• Monitoring of WWTP operation based on operating parameters and performance monitoring;
• Optimization of WWTP operation and minimization of problems and costs of operation and maintenance;
• Chemical, physical and microbiological processes for purification of waste water and sludge;
• Sludge treatment and disposal (sludge management);
• Operation, maintenance and repair of complex electro-mechanical equipment;
• Impact of inflow, infiltration and industrial wastewater on the collection and purification system;
• Education and training of employees who work at WWTP;
• Safety and security at work;
• Communication in crisis situations and raising awareness.

The establishment of the Community of Partice of WWTP operators in BiH was initiated by the Aquasan Network in BiH in cooperation with the Swiss Wastewater Association (VSA) through the project "Strengthening capacity and dialogue on policies in the water services sector in BiH" which is implemented through the Regional Capacity Developmnt Network (RCDN+).
