The Association for Water and Environmental Protection "Aquasan Network in BiH" is organizing the first two-day workshop within the framework of the D-LeaP CDg Program for improving energy management and increasing energy efficiency in public utility/water supply companies (PUC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) which will be held on April 17 and 18, 2024 in Banja Luka, Hotel Jelena.

The specific objectives of the first workshop are:

  • Identify the range of cost-effective measures available to PUC to achieve better energy efficiency results, taking into account behavioral and social factors;
  • With the acquired knowledge, increase operational efficiency, reduce operational and production costs and improve the competitive position of PUCs;
  • Improve understanding of how PUCs energy consumption is linked to potential savings;
  • To improve the individual capacities of the participants for the development and implementation of PUC energy efficiency projects by encouraging participatory planning and partnership of all involved in the company.

The Danube Learning Partnership (D-LeaP) program implemented by the Aquasan network in Bosnia and Herzegovina provides technical support and develops capacities for improving energy management and increasing energy efficiency in public utility/water supply companies (PUC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). D-LeaP is financially supported by the Danube Water Program (DWP), which aims at strong PUCs, good policies and sustainability of water services in the Danube region, and is jointly implemented by the World Bank and the International Association of Waterworks in the Danube River Basin (IAWD) with funding from the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Austria.
